Alyeska's location makes it a perfect home base for exploring other nearby sights.
A drive along the Seward highway offers a magnificent view of the Turnagain Arm and surrounding mountains. A short fifteen minute ride takes you to Portage Glacier and it's unique visitor center, offering naturalist programs, guided hikes and displays. Other side trips include a train ride or drive to Whittier, a visit to Potter Marsh waterfowl nesting area or Crow Creek Mine, an excursion to Seward, or a trip to the Kenai River ~ one of the finest fishing and float rivers in the state.
Summer at Alyeska can be whatever you want it to be- a quiet retreat or an activity filled adventure.
There are a variety of options from which to choose, jogging and bike riding on well maintained paths, tennis, racquetball, fishing and gold panning. Take in the view with a sky ride on the tramway to the top of the mountain. For the adventurer there is parachuting, hang gliding, river rafting and hot air balloon rides.
Alyeska is one of Alaska's most popular winter recreation areas.
In addition to some of the finest downhill skiing and snow boarding in the nation (Mt. Alyeska is one of the top ranking ski slopes in the world and boasts of the longest downhill run), Alyeska offers excellent cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, horse-drawn sleigh rides and the chance to ride on a dog sled. And after a day of invigorating activity, you can spend the evening in front of a fireplace or a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi.
The Double Musky Inn in Girdwood offers visitors the finest in dining. Or take the tramway to the top of the mountain and view the glaciers while experiencing exquisite dining at the Seven Glacier Restaurant. There are many casual dining facilities are also available at the Alyeska Resort. In addition, my chalets are equipped with complete kitchens, appliances, and utensils should you wish to prepare your own meals.
My luxury chalet gives you a breathtaking view of the slopes with spacious windows and decks, yet offer privacy as well. The trail for strolling, jogging or biking is a short two blocks away. You can walk to the ski hill in five minutes.
The chalet is beautifully decorated and furnished, complete with decks, fireplace, and jacuzzi, compact disk player and stereo, cable television and VCR. The chalet will sleep six to eight people and has a complete kitchen. All you need to bring is your clothing and food. All other supplies are made available.
My rates are based upon the number of occupants, the season, and your length of stay. I publish a summer and winter rate card. They are available upon request I am also happy to quote my rates over the phone, or via fax or email.
